Is It Down Right Now is designed to be useful without collecting your personal data. There are no accounts and no login.
What we check
When you check a website, our servers send a request to that site and read its public response — status code, response time, redirects, SSL certificate and DNS records. We don't request or store the contents of the page.
Your recent checks
The list of sites you've checked and their response times is stored only in your own browser (localStorage). It never leaves your device and we can't see it.
Logs
Like most websites, our hosting may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and request time) to prevent abuse and keep the service running. These are not used to build a profile of you.
Third parties
Site icons are loaded from Google's public favicon service. We are not affiliated with any of the websites you check.
