A small, independent tool — not a company.
Is It Down Right Now answers one question as fast as possible: is this website actually down, or is it just you? Paste in a URL and we run a real server-side check — HTTP status, SSL certificate, DNS records and response time — and show you exactly what we found, not a guess.
Why we built it
When a site won't load, most status checkers either need an account, bury the result behind ads, or just show a vague "it's probably fine" message. We wanted something quicker and more honest: no sign-up, no dashboard, just a straight answer with the diagnostics to back it up.
How the check works
Each check runs from our own servers, not your browser, so the result reflects the site's real public availability rather than a local network or extension issue. We look at the HTTP response, validate the SSL certificate, resolve DNS, and measure response time — then show all of it on one page.
No accounts, no tracking
There's nothing to sign up for. Your recent checks are kept only in your own browser so you can revisit them, and we don't build a profile of what you search. See our privacy policyfor the details.
Not affiliated with any site
We independently check the public availability of the sites you search for. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of them — we just report what their servers tell us.
